Pupils of Digranesskóla have been the past day
s busy in creating a Christmas portfolio that is going to present the essentials of Icelandic traditions. The main theme has been the Yuletide lads. All the work was highlighted in a real Christmas ball - held on the 17th of October!!! Júlíus, teacher of class 5.J. was the cameraman, Ragna and Erna, school assisstants, acted as two lads giving the children apples while other staff members sang
and danced around the Christmas tree with the children. Thórdís, our music teacher, has been diligently shooting the musical part of the portfolio and also the most of the poems that tell us about the Yuletide lads, their parents and the famous cat that eats both children and gwon-ups.
Nemendur Digranesskóla hafa verið í óða önn að undirbúa "jólamöppu" sem á að sýna það helsta í hefðbundnum íslenskum jólasiðum. Við ákváðum að einbeita okkur að jólasveinunum og jólaballinu.
One group of pupils also maked Christmas cookies. The recipé with the photos will be sent to our friends in Finland, Italy, Hungary and Portugal.
Einn hópur bakakaði einnig jólapiparkökur undir leiðsögn Hafdísar Erlu heimilisfræðikennara. Uppskriftin ásamt myndunum fer til vinaskólanna.
With Comenius greetings
Marjatta and the Digranes Comenius team
